About Us
Dancer’s Edge Studio, a family owned and operated studio, opened in the Fall of 2002 in Macomb Township, Michigan.  The studio has grown tremendously over the last six years as students of all ages have shown an incredible passion for dance, and a second studio was opened in Shelby Township in September, 2007.

Dancer’s Edge Studio now offers more than 100 classes per week and includes an established and award-winning Performing Company and
All Star Team program.

Our staff consists of professionally trained, educated and
credentialed dancers with many years of dance experience.
Weekly classes offered include Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Tap,
Lyrical, Pom and Hip-Hop for beginner to advanced level
students aged 2 ½ years old to adult.

Students who wish to have fun while training in a dance discipline and would like to perform in a spring recital should register for one of our many recreational dance classes.

Students who wish to experience an advanced level of dance training with competitive dance opportunities, as well as the chance to perform at community functions and charity events, are encouraged to audition for Dancer’s Edge Studio Performing Company or one of our All Star Teams.  These dancers have competed at the Regional, National and World levels, travelling locally in Michigan and out of state to competitions in Chicago, Ohio and Florida.

Performing Company students now number over 150 dancers and the studio has five competitive All Star Teams in the Mini, Youth, Junior and Senior divisions.    Dancer’s Edge Studio has consistently received top scores in all of their dance categories, as well as Top First Overall dance numbers at Regional and National Competitions.  The studio has been awarded Top Production, Top Studio, Most Entertaining numbers, Technique, Best Choreography and Best Costume awards throughout the years.  We are honored to have Title Soloist Winners across all age groups of dancers at Regional competitions including Kids Artistic Revue, Hall of Fame, VIP, Starlight, and UDA and NDA sponsored events.  Many of our dancers are rewarded with scholarship opportunities to attend master level classes at each of the competitions we attend.

DES All Star Teams have been very successful and have earned First Place rankings in Pom and Jazz, National Dance Team Championships at Walt Disney World in both Pom and Jazz, and a World Championship All Star Pom routine.  For the past several years, at least one of our All Star teams has earned a First Place trophy at the Palace Pom Dance Classic and has been a showcased dance routine at Detroit Pistons pregame or halftime festivities.

This past January, three of our All Star teams took First Place and earned the honor to dance at a Detroit Pistons game.

Our Performing Company and All Star dancers are well represented at other dance venues as well.  Many are members of their high school JV and Varsity dance teams.  Our dancers have also been selected to dance with Junior Automotion, the Detroit Shockwave Dance Team, local productions of the Nutcracker Ballet and at the halftime production with the Goo-Goo Dolls at the 2007 Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Day football game.  They have been featured entertainment at local charity events at the Emerald Theatre’s Rock the Runway, GM Tech Center for the Juvenile Diabetes Walk, the Bath City Festival and at the Beaumont Hospital Employee Recognition Picnics.  Three of our graduating seniors have been chosen to work for Universal Dance Association at their summer dance camps.
