During high school, Kelly was a 2000 National High School Dance Team Champion for Eisenhower High School and appeared on ESPN. Kelly was cast in many high school theatre productions, including "West Side Story" and "Alice in Wonderland."
Kelly graduated from Oakland University in 2006 with her degree in Dance. Kelly has studied dance for more than 23 years, participating in group and solo competitions for over 10 years. Kelly danced competively for many local studios and achieved numerous awards, including a National Champion ranking at Starpower Talent Competition. Kelly's dance experience also includes judging for regional dance competitons, teaching at dance camps, and choreographing local cheer and dance routines.
Kelly is a former member of Oakland University Dance Theatre and has choreographed and performed original pieces in Oakland University Young Choreographers' Forum. She was a two-year member of the Detroit Pistons Automotion Dance Team and has appeared on local television and radio broadcasts, as well as performed at numerous charity events in the area.
Kelly has been selected as a featured dancer for Detroit Lions half-time shows and has performed with celebreties such as Mary J. Blige and the Goo Goo Dolls.
Over the last several years, Kelly has earned many choreography and achievement awards. She is a four-time National Championship Coach for Dancer's Edge All Star Teams, and most recently a World Championship coach for the DES Senior Elite All Star Team. Kelly was voted the "2007 Exceptional Coach's Award" by her coaching peers at a Universal Dance Association dance camp.
Kelly loves to work with younger children, but also has a great interest in mentoring teens and adults. She hopes to instill in others her passion and love for the art of dance. Kelly has been a dance instructor for over ten years and cannot imagine her days without dance. Kelly's goal as a teacher is to help students continuously strive for success. Kelly encourages all students to "never give up" and to work hard in order to reach their dreams, whether on stage or in other aspects of their lives.
